CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. Cabins are complete with a private bathroom and shower, closest and sink area. River Way Ranch Camp is a beautiful facility, complete with stables, basketball and tennis courts, three pools, an on-site lake, and a high and low ropes course facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: River Way campers are divided into divisions. The Buckaroos (ages 7-9) have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. Transportation is available by charter bus from Southern and Northern California, as well as airport transportation from Fresno International Airport (FAT).

CAMP FACILITIES: Rising Star is all about musical theatre. Each group (we have 2 age groups) does a production.

This Summer Little Stars, 5 - 7 year olds, will do The Music Man Revue.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers arrive at 9 AM the younger group stays until 1 and the older group stays until 3. We spend our time singing, learning songs, learning dances, working on lines and blocking, working on acting, and creating a special show for the end of our Camp session. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live with their counselors in one of several villages grouped by age and gender. Our facilities also include multiple indoor and outdoor program spaces (including a 700-person Amphitheater), a sustainable farm, a vineyard, four outdoor plazas, athletic facilities and fields, an alpine climbing tower, a low ropes course and a 400-feet zip line, overnight space, hiking trails, multiple arts facilities - and a pool and waterslide.

Avodah
11th Grade

Avodah is a multifaceted, service-based program in which campers play an integral role in camp’s day-to-day operations. Avodahniks develop a strong work ethic and serve as Jewish role models at camp. Beyond daily activities, campers work diligently on a significant camp improvement project and march as a team in both the annual Pride Parade and AIDS Walk in San Francisco.

Our highly-selective and popular CIT program trains our future staff and camp leadership, offering young adults a valuable personal and professional growth opportunity. Leadership workshops and Judaic programs are combined with practical hands-on training with children of all ages.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps take place in our theater and surrounding spaces. We have a mainstage, a green room/rehearsal room with mirrors, and some outdoor rehearsal space. We also share space with the Foster City Recreation department, and a local school.

CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.

• Serve the campers as a positive role model.
• Camp staff members will actively supervise campers both in assigned cabin groups (typically 10 campers and 2 counselors) and at assigned specialty, elective, evening and weekend activity programs.

• Learn the likes and dislikes of each camper in your care by showing genuine interest.
• Recognize and respond to the opportunities for problem solving in the group.
• The counselor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of each camper within their cabin group and with whom they come into contact. E.g. drinking water, daily showers, teeth brushing, active supervision during rest/ down time, application of sunscreen and lip balm, appropriate attire for the activity they will be attending, etc.

• Provide opportunities for each individual to experience success during camp.
• The staff member must never leave campers unsupervised.

• Develop opportunities for positive interaction between campers and staff.

CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.
A few buildings away is our main office, where rehearsals may sometimes be held. It has 3 spacious rehearsal rooms, each with a baby grand piano.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: A sleeping princess, a spellbound Prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at are all part of this quirky adaptation of the popular tale. The evil Trollarina exacts her revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess Melisande into an everlasting sleep, but little does she realize more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of an enchanted Faun.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a scrip, read music, sing in a group, and dancing. Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo. Every lesson is created with the children's skill level and abilities in mind and we always encourage them and help them strive for their best.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
The camp is a four week program running Monday through Friday, 9AM to Noon, beginning June 17th and going through July 12th. The camp location is at the Studio C Theater in Livermore, at 51-C Wright Brothers Avenue. The performances will be on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14.

The regular tuition for the 4 week program is $450. Enrollments before June 1, 2013 will receive a 10% discount, reducing the tuition to $405.00, with a 25% deposit of $101.25 due at the time of registration. CAMP FACILITIES: MODERN FACILITY: Broadway Gymnastic School is a stateof-the-art gymnastics and children’s fitness facility offering all equipment used in the Olympics as well as trampolines, mini tramp, tumble trak, creative obstacle courses and the zip-line (a favorite among our campers). We also have an activity room, lunch room, arts & crafts room, dance studio and free wi-fi.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our spectacular gymnastics and sports camp incorporates exercise and education into a fun-filled day program. Gymnastics is paired with a variety of sports, arts, drama, field trips, and an exciting array of activities captivates all ages until the camper goes home at 12:30 or 3pm. Before and after care is available and can be arranged at registration.

ACTIVITIES/TRIPS: Gymnastics is the foundation of our 2015 fitness day camp activities. Ball sports, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, music and dance round out the curriculum. We are also known for our educational field trips: Kid Concepts, Whale Watching, Sky Zone, Aquarium of the Pacific, California Science Center and Adventureplex.

Dance, music, art and science activities are scheduled throughout the summer. Campers get the chance to try new activities, discover new talents and gain confidence in themselves. Other special themed days include Bring- A-Friend Day, Karaoke, bounce houses, zip-lining, plus Water Days filled with water balloon activities and swimming adventures. CAMP FACILITIES: We have 2 dance studios in the building. We use our large dance space for the dance classes and performance. Camp sit-down activities, arts & crafts are held in our mezzanine studio. Dressing rooms, indoor and outdoor eating areas and office are downstairs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Star Dance Studio has been a neighborhood and family style dance school since 1950. Over sixty-eight years! Our faculty and staff are warm and caring people who love working with children. Instructors are adults well experienced in their dance art and teaching skills. For camp assistants, we often bring in the teen and college students whom we've trained to teach.

Each Wednesday, we take a walk to the Golden Gate Park's Arboretum and Shakespeare's Garden. There, we take candid dance photographs (shared with you).
